“No Taste for Bad Taste” celebrates the great French design works. Condividi il TweetFirst exhibition for the artist Jean-Charles de Castelbajac in Milan at the Design Week. The exhibition, presented by VIA and the Institut Français and entitled “No Taste for Bad Taste”, focuses on the idea of movement.
In his vision, man leads a nomadic life: “We can work from home and go on holiday working at the same time.”
A multitasking man, a man who travels, a man who wants to cross his boundaries.
The exhibition follows this vision with the aim of telling French elegance and charm all over the world.
The stories told in this exhibition are ten, including the themes of luxury, elegance, innovation, creativity and panache (fantasy and originality).
Here is an interview to Jean-Charles de Castelbajac:
“I wanted a scenery of travel, I wanted to have so many of them. Life is too structured, it is not suitable for our time, our lives are nomadic. Today we can work from home and go on holiday working at the same time. We are nomads, we are on the move, as this exhibit, which travelled through so many countries over the last four years. I wanted to build it like a kid’s toy, inside a large wooden box which can be mounted. All the structures are like a children’s play, they fit one into the other. I have designed it myself, as if I were a craftsman. Then I wanted to tell ten stories: one on savoir faire, one on luxury, one on cultural transversality, et voila! And this project came off like that.”
